I recently bought a 2005 KIA Spectra with automatic transmission. I didn't notice any issues when test driving but now experience a severe bucking / jerking action when accelerating from launch. What would cause this to happen?

Check the automatic transmission fluid condition and level. Check this fluid with the vehicle on a level surface and the engine running in park. Pull out the transmission dipstick wipe it off and reinsert and pull back out and see if the fluid is at the required level. The fluid should be red not brown or black. If that is good make sure there is not a check engine light illuminated on the instrument cluster. If so have the vehicle scanned at a auto parts supplier as most will do this for free. Give the codes to me as there might be a misfire occurring when accelerating.
Thanks for the question.
