2005 Kia Sorento inspection failure

2005 Sorento Kia fails New York State Saftey Inspection. Code POo16 keeps coming up all the time. Is there a way to solve this; since, inspection is due. What type of emission problem exists to override the code problem?

This is a fault either with the Crank or Cam shaft position sensor and you need to check the wiring circuit or might require replacement of either one or both of the sensors.
