transmission temp light

I tried to start my car several days in a row and it would not start. Then I tried again and it started but it sounded rough and the transmission temp light popped on along with oil light. the engine light has been on for a long time. what do I need to do to get my car running again.

This sounds like an issue with the transmission fluid temperature sensor which is inside the transmission pan. Here is the location so you can replace it to see if that fixes it. Check out the diagrams (Below). Please run this test and get back to us.
