My 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4.7 2WD shudders and dies if I put in in reverse and press the gas pedal...the faster I reverse, the more violent the shuddering is (for a couple seconds) then it dies. I can't find any related posts.

Background...Just this week I had an oil/lube/filter change, a front end brake job, and a new battery installed. I did not notice the problem until after these things were done, but I have never throttled my car in reverse either. Just did it to check the brakes in reverse...any thoughts. PRAYING it's nothing major!!!

Thanks for you time!

Do you have a check engine light?

Start by having the transmission checked out-

No lights on...Runs perfect in all other gears and runs in reverse fine as long as I don't press the gas too hard.

Can transmisions be worked on or adjusted, or would be most likely be a replacement. Just curious of your thoughts!
