Engine Temperature Needle

The Engine Temperature Needle in the board of my vehicule mark an incorrect temperature. Sometimes when I started the vehicule in the morning when is cold, the needle position mark like the engine is hot. I think is the ECT o Coolant Temperature Sensor because in some vehicule this sensor send a signal to the computer and send a signal to the needle. Please help me. I dont know in my vehicule apply this.
