what bulbs goes in the dash, and how to I take the instrutment panel out to replace the bulbs , does the whole dash board have to be taken out to get to the dash panel to replace the bulbs that need replacing

Check fuse 28, this controls the panel illumination control module. Also could be a bad ground, dimmer switch, and maybe but rarely the lamp

Dash illumination bulbs are usually minature plugin types.
