overheating

i have a 2005 hyundai accent and it is overheating. there is oil and antifreeze in the car. its not smoking. Could it be the thermostat

Yes it could be a stuck thermostat, but it could also be the fans aren't coming on, there's a blockage in the cooling system, the water pump is bad or the drive belt is slipping/bad.

You'll have to eliminate each possible cause one at a time. But test first, DO NOT REPLACE.
