Shakes or Wobbles problem 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 129000 miles

Hello Dear Recipient,

My car is at 129000 km now and I bought it 2nd hand at about 96000km. It was oerfectly alrighr until recently. Now it has shown some problem. As I push on acceleration pedal after a traffic light the car accelerates but some time with jerks and then it goes alright after 2-3 jerks. During constatnt speed it does not jerk. Also when I further accelerates say from 80 km/h to 100 it may some time take a jerk and then goes smooth. I am quite worried about it. I will be highly thankful for your expert opinion.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH

Hi Rusher80,

This sounds like a classic spark plug misfire I would start with a fresh set of plugs here is a guide to help you see what you are in for when doing the job.

If this is a diesel replace the fuel filters.

Please let us know what happens.

Cheers

I also have a similar problem, I drive a 2006 honda city i-dsi with the 7-speed auto trans. The car jerks when you accelerate and will also shut off when in drive both while sitting and idling and while driving. The car also shakes especially when the ac is running. So I changed the plugs like you said and now it runs perfect thanks for saving me money I love this site.
