2005 Holden Vectra Sister Laws Car Dead Battery Tiptronic Model 2 Litre

Sister in Laws car has dead battery, its a tiptronic model, 2 litre, is it okay to jump start this vechicle from another one as you would normaly or will jump starting it make the on borad computer die?

Hook donor battery up Pos to Pos and Neg to good ground other than direct to battery, let is for 3-4 min then start, remove earth terminal first. ideally you should be using surge protection jumper leads.

IT MIGHT BE SAFER (NOT TAKING A RISK) TO REMOVE THE BATTERY AND CHARGE IT?

EVEN IF YOU REMOVED IT---------------- AND CHARGED IT USING YOUR JUMPER CABLES FOR 30 MINUTES OR SO (SITTING IN FRONT OF THE OTHER VEHICLE) --------THEN RE-INSTALL IT IN HER VEHICLE (NOW CHARGED)
