Hello,

It sounds like the throttle bore is dirty causing a correlation issue with the PCM causing the limp mode here is a guide to help you fix it.

Please run down this guide and report back.

I would get a dealer to do a scan with a TECH 1 scanner rater than a generic scanner for this problem, the tech 1 will give a lot more info, if you have to get a local work shop, to do the scan, ensure that they have a top of the range scanner or they may not pick up the fault.

Would not drive it to far, I would get the codes out of the ECU and post them here, it will shut down if it is a real problem or go into limp mode, the over heating will do more damage and has more than likely set all this in motion.

I would clear the codes and then service the throttle body. This is the #1 cause of limp mode. Please check out these guides to help see what I am talking about and how to perform the service:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/reduced-power-limp-mode

and

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/throttle-actuator-service

Please go over these guides and get back to us.
