I have a gmc 2005 2500hd truck. It still blows hot and cold air but there has been a slight ticking noise comming from under the passenger side where the feet go. How to know if i need to replace resistor or the whole blower>

If the blower motor works on all speeds, the resister is fine. As far as the ticking, that could be a vent door sticking. Usually when the motor goes bad, they make a screaching noise and then stop running. See if you can locate where the noise is coming from. Check the vent door actuators under the dash.
