My wife was driving the car, and ran through a few puddles yesterday. (it rained a lot)
The "check Electrical system" light came on, but would go off at higher (2,000+ ) rpm.
The same symptoms are happening today, but if she goes over 2200 rpm, the "check electrical system" will go off.
We thought the problem would go away after the car had some time to dry out, (although it's still damp and cold).

She says the interior dashboard lights are getting dimmer, and I fear it's the alternator. Not being a "Ford" guy, I was wondering what else would cause this behaviour, and if there was an easier fix than replacing the alternator.

I was wondering if any of you have experienced these symptoms, and what you did to fix it?

Thank you
