Hello, I am thinking about purchasing a BBK cold air intale for my 2005 v6 mustang. This intake specifically states that no tune is required. I would say 95% of the review have said they experienced no problem with it, but a few people did get a check engine light even after disconnecting the battery during install. The code that was thrown indicated that the engine was running lean. Some people solved this problem by running 93 octane, which I definitely do not want to do. So in light of all this, my question is, what is the likelihood of a CEL/running lean if I install a "no tune required" aftermarket CAI and run 89 octane? Thank you for your time!

This shouldn't effect your fuel/air ratio. As long as the mass air flow sensor and temp sensor are hooked up correctly you should not have to worry about changing octanes.

Please keep in mind that we only recommend direct fit parts (not performance parts).
