2005 Ford Galaxie re- programming my keyfob

im trying to programme my keyfob after the battery went flat and it dosent seem to happen. The red light on the keyfob flashes fine but the light in the door dosent seem to do anything. Any ideas please?

What makes you believe the battery was the problem in the first place?

Because before the battery went flat the remote central locking was working fine.

That's my question. How are you so sure that the battery actually went dead and it wasn't some other issue with the system?
