2005 ford focus boot latch keeps releasing and clicking

When it has been raining the boot release keeps clicking and the boot latch releases it's grip and the boot opens

Seems there is a leak somewhere and rain water is getting to the controls to trigger the boot latch.

Yes, this job would most probably cost a limb if you get it done at a garage.

There are many variants of the Focus, which do you have? I need to know the vehicle model to be able to understand the most likely areas.

It is a 55 plate ghia 1.6 petrol.
