I have had 2 ignition coils go bad at different times in my truck and after replacing the coils and spark plugs I can get rid of the engine codes any ideas

this are the codes P2320 and P2305

I try erasing the codes with a code reader and also removing the positive cable from the batter for about 15 min.
The codes will go away for a min. then comeback

I know I replaced the correct coils because both of them were burn out.

Thank you,

see pic for causes but check connections as Chrysler has been replacing the harness for coils so they may be bad. if the pcm is bad a pro will have to replace it due to security issues on vehicle.

Hmac Thank you for the replay I'll take a look at it, I may add that the harness don't look burn, I do have a multi meter and I'll check for shorts or open connections, otherwise I'll have to take it to the shop so an expert can determine if the pcm is defective.

I like to note that my gas mileage has not change and that the truck runs as good as it did before this issues come up.

Sr. here is what I have done:
I measured impedance on all coil wires and it is as follows
wires for coils that were burned measured: #2 cylinder 1.34 kohms, #7 cylinder 574 ohms all others measure around 2.55 megohm this measurements were done with the coil wires unplugged from the coils
Is this a sign that the PCM is damaged? I'm pretty handy and believe I can replaced. is it possible for you to tell me that is the problem.

thank you for you help.

those measurements don 'mean anything unless the harness was disconnected from pcm then measured. which should be in the 5 ohm range.

Well I keep on working on this problems because money is tight.
check the coil wires no shorts to ground and when the connectors are off the PCM the coil connectors show an open which is correct in my opinion.

I started the truck and one side of the coil connector shoes 0VDC with reference to ground and te other side about 13.5 VDC.
I checked the wires they measure about 15.5 Kohms
summary

new coils
wires don't show to be open
coils all measure about 0.81 ohms @ 90F

I'm lost

anyone have any ideas

Thank you,
