P1790 Code

Replaced the input and output speed sensor the tcm and checked the pcm. Now I check and no codes but still shifts hard from 1st gear to 2nd and sticks in second then wont come out of second till I park the car and kill it the when I restart it same thing shifts hard going to second gear and the sticks in second

Most likely either a valve body issue or an internal failure. It is a gear ratio code. The sensors and tcm have no bearing on the code. It is an internal slippage that sets the code and puts it in limp mode

I had same issue with my 05 neon was not an internal failure, it was a broken wire to the output speed sensor. Repaired wire cleared codes, 20 mile test drive. Problem solved
