My 2005 Dodge neon is in limp mode, stuck in 2nd gear. Speedo not working, fuel gauge drops when accelerated in drive. Replaced both speed sensors, didn't change a thing. Do possibly the codes need to be cleared from computer to fix this? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Do not erase the codes. That is the valuable information that will indicate the circuit or system that needs further diagnosis. If there are no codes for your mechanic to read he will have to drive the car until the problem occurs again and / or the codes set again.

The problem is there, doesn't go away. What it be, like I said I replaced both speed sensors, output and input.

No one, including me, has any clue what the cause of the problem is until you have the codes read. There's hundreds of things that could have happened and anything is a guess until you let the computer tell you what it detected.
