Yesterday my truck started to shudder/buck while accelerating at low speed at the time where I assume the first gear change was happening. If I acclerated very slowly the truck would not shudder/buck while changing gears. The transmission fluid level is proper. What is the problem?

I had a similar problem with my 95 Dakota. Turned out it was a severe miss that was remedied by a good tune-up (plugs cap/rotor and wires) Unfortunately I learned this after paying a fortune for transmission work.

Yes, that problem was fixed. What I learned was, that a severe miss can mimic a bad torque converter, so a good tune-up should be done before having the transmission looked at.
