Oil light and tapping noise on cold startup. Noise goes away when engine warms up. Light goes away on restart. Oil pressure switch changed twice. Oil pressure checked and only low at startup. Problem still persists and otherwise vehicle runs well. 175000 kilometres.

try an oil filter like Purolator, wix, or napa, AC then pressure check with a gauge.
