tires pulling

2005 dodge caravan is pulling to the right and the tire store is saying that the rack and pinion and tie rods are loose and that it will also need an alignment. Does this sound correct and is $975 a fair price?

None of those things are causing your pull except possibly the alignment. The repairs would have to be done to be able to get a good alignment, assuming they are telling the truth. I would first try rotating the tires to find out if the tire itself is causing the pull.
