I'm looking to buy a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan for $5500...when I test drove the vehicle, it made some weird knocking sounds coming from the front wheel area of the minivan. It didn't matter how I drove the noises didn't go away and they were louder when hitting bumps. Could you please tell me what the problem could be?

A lot of places offer to perform inspections on used vehicles and this might be a good time to find one of them. In particular, look for a loose brake caliper, loose brake pads, and worn anti-sway bar links. There could be some anti-rattle hardware missing from the brake pads. None of those things are necessarily serious but you won't know for sure without an inspection.
