timing belt snapped

the timing belt went in my 1.4 lacetti and im just wondering if its just a matter of replacing in or could there be more damage too the engine

thanks .. i was talking too a mechanic and he was just saying too me that in some cars its just a matter of replacing it so i was only wondering
