Coolant seems to be coming out the water pump from a hole covered by a worn rubber plug, accessible after removing the tire. Can this be a simple replacement of a plug to stop leakage and prevent overheating?

Runs for a while then needs more water or coolant.Passenger side directly behind the wheel, coolant appears to come out of a hole on the side of the water pump, covered by a worn and torn rubber plug which we removed. Is that plug replaceable or is a more costly repair required?
