For about a month i would go crank my car for about 15 min and the heat would not get hot until i took off and the other day i added about a half gallon of water and now my heat just blows cold all the time what should i try to fix the problem

Is the engine warming up to a normal operating temp? Are both heater core hoses getting hot? Have you checked the blend air door?
