Starter replacement

Will a starter out of a non turbo model work on my turbo model. I installed it and it sounds like it's just spinning I don't think it's kicking it out. Please help thank you

It sounds like you have a defective starter are have it installed incorrectly here is a guide to help with diagrams below to show you how on your car. Make sure you have a high quality rebuild for the starter like AC Delco.

Are you trying to remove it from under the car or the top? You should be able to get it from under the car, but if you can't, you will need to remove the cooling fan / shroud assembly.
