i would like to know how to remove differentials and intermiten shaft from oil pan?

I bought a haynes manuel and i've gone step by step but i'm having problems removing the intermiten shaft from the oil pan.

I'm not sure I understand which shaft you are refering to. Is it the front driveshaft?
