2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer Started Making Sorta Whistling Sound Accelerates Into

It started making a sorta whistling sound as it accelerates into each gear. My husband says it is the fuel pump going out, but I don't think that is correct. What would you say it could be? I read something about the idle pulley?

cannot even begin to tell as we cannot hear it and are going on your comments which is very hard to make a guess from there.

does it make noise any other time??

No it does not make the noise any other time, the noise will go away if you are not accelerating. It's kinda like a turbo engine noise if that makes sense.
