2005 Trailblazer oil pressure gauge

The oil pressure gauge does not go below 40 when the engine is off and goes over 80 when engine is running

normal should be 0-40 so your gettin a 40 boost somehow. these vehicles are known for gauge/instrument cluster problems.(GM) you can just live with it or get it repaired.

are any other gauges acting up? they more than likely will with age.

you could also just install a REAL oil pressure gauge! as yours is a glorified idiot light anyway.
