2005 Chevrolet Silverado Oil Pressure Seems Low 30 40 On Gauge After Sitting

oil pressure seems low 30-40 on gauge. after sitting in idle for a few minutes either a lifter or sticky valve starts clacking. Goes away when pressure gets up to 40. If the problem is pump, how do you check? Thanks!!!!

first if the oil hasn't been changed do that an da filter first. then if still reading 30-40 which isn't low by the way, Put a good oil filter on like a wix, purolator, not afram as that cause slow pressure sometimes. If it still clacks or makes noise try some sea foam first because to get to the lifters on that enginve you have to pull the head.
