Could an engine be fixed if it has ran hot? After my car overheated it ran rough afterwards. It was shaky and loud. I was told that it had a blown head gasket.

Yes the car can be repaired if it has a blown head gasket, more than likely if the car got real hot, one or both cylinder heads may be cracked and would need replacement, when replacing head gaskets, have the heads checked by an engine machine shop, they will crack check them for you.

It may be much cheaper (and much less headache) to shop around the auto salvage yards for a good, running, direct replacement engine. Since your car is only six years old it is a good bet you can find one that is low miles and in good shape. Just wanted you to know there is another option.
