Is engine power reduced sign the only sign you have
no ABS, check engine light, or check vehicle light on?

Need an OBDII reader to access the codes
most local part store should be able to help you
and give you the codes
codes should indicate to the troubled area and the reason for stalling and reduced power
let me know what you have for codes

I have the same problem with my car. I have a 2005 Chevy Malibu Maxx. The check engine light comes on, and then my traction control shuts off, then the information center displays "engine power reduced". My mechanic said the OBDII reader points to a bad throttle body. A new throttle body is going to cost me $300. Does this sound like the correct diagnosis? I hate to spend $300 on something that isn't going to fix the problem.
