2005 Chevrolet Impala coolant leaking

There appears to be a leak right above the water pump I can see a quarter size hole where water is coming from this is a gushing leak not seeping but hoses look good can't see a leak from water pump the started after a freeze here in houston last week, put antifreeze in car the night before the next day got home from work and while parking car observed steam coming from car i'm hoping maybe this is a freeze plug can you all help.

It sounds like a freeze plug. Are you able to upload a pic for me to see where the problem is coming from?

It's a little hard to tell for sure from the pic, but that does look like a freeze plug. Based on the rust, I believe it was leaking for some time.
