I got an answer to my question, but I still can't tell Fuel injector is #4. When you are looking at a firing order diagram--What is marked as FRONT; what specific attributes or components can identify the Front of a Chevrolet 3.4L V6 in a 2005 chevy impala?

#4 is in the middle cylinder towards the radiator/front of the vehicle. Cylinder numbering alternates. Odd numbers are against the radiator, even numbers towards the passenger compartment. Numbering starts on the side towards the passenger wheel.

Looking in from an open hood, the alternator is on the left (passenger-side).

Don't know how to tell if it is front or rear wheel drive. I can tell you vin# 2g1wf52e959105561. The belts all face the passenger front tire. Does that help? Is the #4 injector on the row facing the cabin or on the row facing the headlights; keep in mind that I describing this in 2 rows of 3 cylinders:Like
this diagram.
(windshield)
1 2 3
(Front drivers tire)
4 5 6

It's front wheel drive with a transversely mounted engine. That means the engine is mounted sideways, instead of longitudinally, with the pulleys in the front of the car.

Okay, it is not a traversly mounted engine. We have established that, but the rasmataz provided a picture of firing sequence that is obviously wrong. I just need to know where the #4 injector is. The picture would suggest that my engine belts face the front of the car, which they do not. So, please help me! I have my fuel rail laid out in the garage with no way of identifying #4. No money to buy a book or get a mechanic. I spent all my money on parts and materials. The engine is 2005 Impala 3.4L: AT transmission(no turbo, just the base model). It has stampings on the lower intake, but they are confusing. I know the #4 is in the middle row of injectors, but I don't know if it is in the back row(the 3 inj. Closest to the cab), or if it is in the front row(the three inj. Closest to the front bumper). Really, does any one actully know?

Actual cylinder numbering is as such:
Passenger 1 3 5
tire 2 4 6
side radiator
Front of vehicle

We both actually know. I told you in my first post a few hours ago. I've also told you that your car is a front wheel drive vehicle, which, by definition means that it has a transversely (sideways) mounted engine. That means the pulleys are all next to the passenger tire. Also, nobody has posted an image.

I did on his other post I suggest you stay in one post-If you need help don't be questioning our integrity-your here for a reason-What I gave you came out of MIt1-If its not a transverse engine than what is it? Bcuz I know the differences-its like teaching an old dog a new trick. Furthermore, even if you find no.4 cylinder you still got a long way to go-

Hey Rivermikerat refer back to the first respone 3you gave me, and tell me its not bogus! You stated that #4 was in the center row-closest to the radiator (ARE YOU FOLLOWING ME?) Then in the same paragraph stated that the even numbered cylinders are located in the row closet to the cabin (GO AHEAD AND DOUBLE CHECK YOUR RESPONSE). So yes you did give an answer, two as a matter of fact (ONE WAS RIGHT AND ONE WAS WRONG). I could guess and have the same exact odds! 50/50

Actually we take great pride in giving correct answers. That's why we keep coming back to threads like these.

As I've stated 3 times now, #4 is in the middle at the front of the car, on the side closest to the radiator. Take a look at the picture. It should hopefully be clear enough to understand. I mistyped once. And I corrected myself.
