my 2005 chevy impala I just bought is having problems with the heatr taking a long time to get hot I had the collent flushed and bleed becuase there was air in it but it still taking a long time to heat up, the light on the climent countrol is out I noticed. any ideas on what it could be. someone told me to un hook the batery for a couple minutes. and that there are fuses that could be blown how do I tell if they are? please help

For the climate controls, start by checking for trouble codes.
As to heater, ensure the thermostat is working correctly. Check the coolant level and ensure you don't have coolant losses issues. Check both coolant hoses to the heater core. Ensure they are not clogged and are hot. Try backflushing the heater core to test if it is clogged.
