You could have a frozen up cylinder. Do they use salt on the roads in the winter where you live?ALso have you tried spraying some pbblaster or liquid wrench in the lock and let it soak to see if it frees up?

I live in San Diego, so no salt. I tried some WD40 with no success.

I went out and picked up a can of PB Blaster and gave it a try, but, no luck. It now appears to me that the cylinder is broken. I'll go to my Chevy dealer and see what parts I'll need to fix the problem. Thanks for any additional info you might have, though.

Well, my friend, I received a part notification from a company that had a horrible customer rating and when I called them, they didn't even have the lock assay.
Perhaps you service can find a reliable source for my part.
Thanks,
Ron
