I just changed the drums and shoes and before the pedal was fine. The only other thing I did was disconnected the parking brake behind the drivers side, so that I could get the retaining spring back on the emergency brake easy on both sides. Should the shoes be adjusted out more? I never disconnected any brake lines, and I have enough brake fluid in the master cylinder, thanks for any help you could give.

Do you have a leak anywhere ? If not-Try adjusting the brake shoes and rebleed the brakes in accordance with the repair manual-
