2005 Cadillac STS red exhaust pipes

mycar has a miss and the exhaust pipes under the car turn red why?

More than likely the misfire is spark-related. That will send unburned fuel into the exhaust system where it burns in the catalytic converter. That fuel is what makes it get red hot. It won't take very long for the catalyst to melt and become plugged.
