Loss of all sound in the car

I know all sound is coming from the bose amplifier. When i lose sound, it is radio, door chimes, turing signal, back up notifications, ect. I have been told to replace the amp but since it works sometimes, yet getting more rare, I am wondering if it could be something else. Also, more recently, some of the display lights on the head unit stay on when powere on. Looks like a thumbprint of lights that stay on over everything else. Any help would be great
