Can you tell me please... how often do you find that an oil pump has blown an engine with wear and tear? I have asked the garage and there has never been a problem with oil as it has always been checked, but insurance company is saying Oil Pump Wear and Tear? So do they wear often and what other cause can it be if not for oil? Thanks

oil pumps dont'normally wear out if the oiland filter are changed regularly. if this wasnt' done then the releif valve inside the pump can stick open and hence no pressure. if the pan was hit on the bottom that could have damaged the pump as well. next time please give the engine size.
