What should the cost be to replace a timing belt on my vehicle? The dealer says I should replace the timing belt, water pump, tensioner, drive belts and coolant. Quoted cost: $1,050.00 He also said to replace the spark plugs at $240.00 I want to do it myself can you help me?

Thanks, Gary

Hi,

I attached the parts and labor information for replacing the belt and the labor for the water pump. Also, I do recommend having it done and the water pump at the same time.

To determine labor cost, multiply the hours required by the hourly rate.

The cost of the water pump and coolant are not included. As far as the pump is concerned, here is the part number and price.

11 - Water Pump
19200RDMA02
140.88

As far as the spark plugs, here is a link that explains in general how it is done:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-change-spark-plugs

Here are the specifications related to the spark plug:

GAP
1.0 - 1.1 mm (0.039 - 0.043 in)
Service Limit 1.3 mm (0.051 in)

Torque
18 Nm (13 lb-ft)

Let me know if this helps or if you have other questions.

Take care,
Joe
