My 2004 volvo s40 has become hard to start. You have to hold down on the throttle a little bit to get it to start and then hold the throttle at about 1000 rpm's for about a minute so it will run. Could this be the fuel pump regulator, IAc valve or something more serious?

Is the Malfunction Indicator Light showing? Whatever possibilities there are, which is numerous, you would still need to perform diagnostics to locate the source.
