Why would my vw polo 1.2 12v use oil after service & timing chain etc.replacement.Oil light flashes after approx 20mls driving.I have replaced oil switch & there no oil leaks

Do you know the weight of oil used and did they use mineral or synthetic oil?

semi synthetic 5/30 i think

Change to a full mineral oil and see if that helps, the synth may just not be up to the job if th engine is a bit worn.
