I have just had timing chain replaced, The engine sounds much better but makes
a wurring noise as you accelerate. The garage said it is normal and the noise
will stop one the chain has bedded in. It this true or have they fitted it too tight.
Many Thanks
Steve

It sounds like the belt tensioner is too tight. It will eventually get better but it will shorten the service life by a great deal. I would keep bugging them and tell them to show you another car with a new timing belt that makes the same noise. Why don't brand new cars make that whining noise? Their timing belts are brand new. Get them to explain that to you.
