after driving my rav4 the engine makes a ticking sound...

Light tapping from valve cover area? goes with RPMS?

there is light tapping or ticking on the engine after using or when it is turn off

yes... but when engine is on there is no sound...

That should be the exhaust system cooling down and it is normal for most vehicles.
