What may be causing the vibration?

At idle during both cold and warm operations there is strong vibration present (felt through brake peddle and steering wheel). It gets worse as the car warms up. Also while stopped at intersections on occassion the car will try to jolt forward with foot on brake pedal.

I would have the motor mounts checked for being worn out.

the surging may be from a high idle condition. get it checked at a shop to verify and get a bid.
