to repace spark plugs on 2005 avalon 3.5L do you need to remove intake manifold on firewall side and is cyc #5 close to driver on that bank. does the wipers also need to come off ? Looks like a tough job?

Yes to all your questions.

For the intake manifold, you only need to remove the upper portion.

Remove the wiper asy and then the lower panel. Not really that tough but rather time consuming.
