What is the cause of this sound?

When idling, my car gives off a slight but noticeable clicking/ticking sound from the engine bay. I can't tell if this is simply a sound that the car just makes, or if this is the precursor to a potential issue.

could be the injectors, could be a valve lifter from low oil or excessive wear. get it checked by a shop.
