Displaying wrong outside temperature in the dashboard and Clock at night times not lighting up

My 2004 Subaru Forester has been displaying wrong outside temperature in the dash board. How do you think I can fix it?

and my second question is that the car's clock back light is not working so I have to replace it. Do you know how to remove the cover of the clock separately? It seems a bit difficult remove it.

usual cause is bad sensor. here's info on operation.

some have also reported erroneous readings from it getting wet from powerwashing or extreme weather.
