I had my water pump and my serpentine belt replaced the other day. After I left the garage, the squealing sound started. I brought the car back, was told that the water pump that was just installed was defective and had to be replaced again. After that was done, the squealing sound was still there and the mechanic told me that the dealer said that the sound indicates that the intake needs to be flushed. I don't understand why the squealing sound would come from the intake if it started right after the serpentine belt and the water pump were replaced.
BTW, the sound is constant but it syncs up with the speed of the car.
Do you think it could be the serpentine belt or does an intake really make such sounds?
Thank you.
